ACT/SAT scores have been removed from rankings to reflect a general de-emphasis on test scores in the college admissions process.

The other wounded officer was identified Tuesday by the Statesville Police Department as Statesville police Cpl. Casey Hoover, who was also a member of the task force. Hoover suffered a gunshot wound to an area of his upper torso that was unprotected by his bulletproof vest, Statesville police said in a news release. He underwent surgery and is stable and expected to make a full recovery, police said. Queens University of Charlotte, a private university near downtown, also has a diverse student body.
