You don't spend much time sitting side by side on a cruise ship couch, especially when the TV is across from the bed. So Celebrity ditched the traditional love seat for a chaise lounge-style sofa, where mostly I dumped my daypacks, but also I could lay back with my legs up and Wi-Fi call my family. By day, everyone pops round to Cafe al Bacio for a coffee or a complimentary pastry or to grab a beer and check the scores at Craft Social Bar. At night, the atrium is all abuzz with cruisers grabbing a pre- or post-dinner cocktail, watching the juggling martini bartenders compete with the LED chandelier for best show and grabbing a table at the terraced landings for a quick catch-up. The Grand Plaza is Celebrity's three-deck atrium area that the line has smartly designed to become the social heart of the ship. There are 4 different main dining rooms onboard Celebrity Beyond; tonight, we dined in Normandie Dining Room.

To maintain this essence of the Celebrity dining experience on Beyond, we created the Cosmopolitan Restaurant—the next evolution of our current main restaurants. The walk-through wine display at the entrance sets the scene for the creative cuisine within—new American with global influences. Other outdoor areas where you'll notice more space than on Beyond's sister ships include the Rooftop Garden, which has become more usable, with more arty coverings to protect loungers from the elements. You'll find two plunge pools in this area, although be warned that these are not hot tubs and also give people walking by a distorted full body view of those swimming, not unlike a fun house mirror. Celebrity Beyond offers Edge-class features such as the Eden observation lounge, and a magic carpet tender dock. It also is the very first Celebrity cruise ship to offer SpaceX Starlink internet service.

While this cruise ship might not be a perfect fit for everyone, it’s an excellent option for those seeking a high-end opportunity to relax, recharge and indulge at sea. Beyond shows in the theater, you’ll find entertainment throughout the ship’s broader spaces, like live music and light shows. While you might not find a lot of venues here that offer strictly a party or clubbing vibe, like you might find on some other ships, you will still find plenty of places to get a well-made drink and enjoy a carefully crafted ambiance. The Royal Suite features a small verandah but much more space inside, with 687 square feet. There’s a separate bedroom, a huge bathroom with a soaking tub and big vanity, bar area, powder room and other features that make this suite feel like a luxury loft in the city.

The pool deck not only has lots of pool loungers, but also numerous loveseats, wicker chairs and cozy booths. With the pool bar close by, this is a great spot to hang out in the sun while sipping a poolside cocktail. We tried two martinis tonight before dinner, including a cream-based white chocolate drink and an apple butterscotch martini. Both were excellent as we listening to the pop music blasting throughout the atrium. Celebrity Beyond has a special warmth onboard - something I've never felt before on a cruise ship. The accent colors in our balcony cabin exuded similar feelings of warmth.

We know we shouldn't have favorites when it comes to cruise ship captains (truly, we love them all), but the fact that the charismatic captain Kate McCue has taken the reins of Celebrity Beyond is a big boon for passengers. Eden is a beautiful, airy lounge, spanning three decks and encircled on three sides by the greatest expanse of glass ever to be fitted on a cruise ship. While the kids are entertained, you can join a yoga class, spend a day in the spa, or enjoy a long, lazy lunch at the Rooftop Garden, a stylish al fresco lounge and grill on the upper deck, with two infinity pools cantilevered over the side of the ship. Using both raw and refined elements with earth tones, pearlescent accents, and natural textures, we’ve created a sophisticated yet approachable restaurant.

Celebrity Beyond will then spend the summer sailing in the Mediterranean before repositioning to Florida. The Retreat Lounge, Deck 15 forward, is also larger, though the trade off here is there is now no alfresco space directly connected to the private lounge. Your taste buds will get a tour of southern Italy without even stepping ashore. You'll find Americans and Brits as the primary passengers on Celebrity Beyond, although the ship does draw from a diverse international base. While families aren't discouraged on Celebrity Beyond, the ship doesn't have waterslides or other attractions that might attract younger children.

That said, be careful with where you book your suite, or room, particularly if you're a sun lover. Because the top deck on Celebrity Beyond stretches a bit over the ship itself, many of the rooms on the higher deck don't get any sun on their balconies (infinite or otherwise).

The leafy Hoppen-designed Rooftop Garden is bigger on Celebrity Beyond than on previous vessels with two eye-popping new plunge pools cantilevered seven meters over the edge of the ship. The leafy Moroccan design courtesy of Berkus features a range of seating, from tables and bar stools to shaded cabanas (for sitting, not lounging). If you love the idea of long, lazy days at sea, why not consider a transatlantic crossing as the ship moves between its different sailing areas? That way, you get to maximize time on board to enjoy all the facilities.
The Retreat on Celebrity Beyond has been expanded to include a two-story sundeck, which includes a bar, pool and two hot tubs. In addition to the sundeck, cruisers traveling in The Retreat also enjoy access to a private restaurant, Luminae, which features exclusive menus designed by a Michelin-starred chef. There’s also The Retreat Lounge, where guests will find complimentary food and drinks throughout the day. Standing 17 decks tall and a breathtaking 1,073 feet in length, Beyond is the third (and largest) ship in Celebrity’s luxury Edge Series. The ship holds 3,260 guests and features 1,646 staterooms, with more restaurants, bars, and lounges than either ship before it. One of the surprises aboard Beyond was the enviable art sprinkled throughout every nook and cranny.
Boulud says his goal with the menu was to showcase global cuisine and to highlight his expertise beyond French cooking. I’m still dreaming about the warm lemon-scented madeleines that arrived at meal’s end. The small venue can seat only 50 diners; a tasting menu ($125 cover charge) will soon roll out to accompany the current a la carte menu. Le Voyage is located just off the atrium, so grab a drink at the Martini Bar or World Class Bar before moseying on down for your two-hour dinner.
Beautiful images of people, places, flora and fauna have been arranged so that each deck reflects a different continent. Put your headphones on and live-stream high-energy classes from Peloton HQ in New York, or choose from a wide range of pre-recorded sessions. Either will have you instantly motivated and powering through a whole-body workout. Where conditions permit, for example, when the ship is in Santorini for sunset, the venue hosts Dinner on the Edge, in the most romantic setting imaginable, right at the top of the ship with uninterrupted sea views.
